Album : Cream Child - Parasomnia

Ritmo Sportivo is rocking my spacial reality right now with their newest release by Cream Child, "Parasomnia". If the title is any hint to paranoia and insomia combined, either by influence or curious physcological effects of his music, this album is dead on and beautifully composed. It's in disregard to the ambush of pop music and asks you to contemplate an understanding for sound, space, rhythm and tone. And I"m sticking to it.

Album : Grillo - Show 'em Sumo

If you had u ken, then you'll know about Grillo's Street Fighter series. If you didn't have u ken, then you gotta catch up or this sumo of an album might knock you out of that circle. If you're older than 20 you'll probably listen to the the whole ablum and with a good chance, even in track order. Rant: as in MP3's killed the album. Front to back this album has a serene, steady and slow stepped, totally in control movement with the exception of the last track. From out of nowhere comes the flying head butt and it leaves you hanging to hear which fighter is next in this series.

Watch : Le Peuple de l'Herbe - No Escape

Man, its been a while since I watched this. My old roommate visited a week ago and reminded me of this wonder music video and tune. This band is pretty awesome otherwise as well.

Guess I missed the holiday on this next one, but the video is awesome and adorable for such a bad ass beat.

Single : 8 Month Old Baby - Ella's Jamz (7" vinyl)

Too damn cute and pretty good acid techno. Coming through the pipes on EM411 via Eric Laurence on the ablum he and his 8 month old daughter produced. Best comment on the site, "Sweet! Does she do any session work? I need some beatz from someone who understands the importance of crawling."

Here's the details:

These are two of the songs made by my daughter and myself. Backstory: My 8 month old daughter LOVES the sound of the 303. Any song that has it in it makes her squeal and squawk in delight.
Oone day i sat down with her and fired up my x0xb0x. I put it into program mode and let her randomly hit the notes/accent/slide/up/down while I hit 'next'. Once we had a pattern complete, we made a new one.

In addition to the x0xb0x programming, she also banged out some bass and beats on the mpc. quantized of course. she's only 8 months old after all.

I'm pretty sure when or if I had a kid that has the giggles or even hinted a smile from electronic music, I'd do the same. Kudos on the vinyl pressing!
